Qld: Queensland goes to polls on March 21

Queensland Premier ANNA BLIGH says an early election on March 21 is needed to provide
economic stability and political certainty at a time of global crisis.

She's ended weeks of intense speculation to call an election today .. six months early.

It follows news that the state's deficit is expected to hit 1.6 billion dollars and
jobless figures will sharply rise.
