FED; NSW MP hauled from water in HMAS Sydney protest
Greens MP IAN COHEN says he was grabbed by police as he paddled his surfboard intothe path of HMAS Sydney as it departed for the Persian Gulf this morning.
Mr COHEN says he'd been on board one of several Greenpeace zodiacs in Sydney Harbourtrying to disrupt the ship's passage, when he dived into the water on his surfboard.
He says he was quickly pulled out by water police, who confiscated his surfboard andlater dropped him off several kilometres away at Mrs Macquaries Chair.
He says the police promised to give him his board back when he wasn't seen to be adanger anymore.
